About
If you are looking for a simple to make, yet flavorful drink, look no further than the Godfather. Built around only two ingredients, this cocktail is perfect for when you are in the mood for something sweet and hardy.
Although the Godfather cocktail is simple to make, it is very important that you use a high quality scotch, as the flavor of the scotch will absolutely come through the end product. The sweet and nutty flavor of the amaretto though pairs perfectly with the oaky flavor of the scotch. The key aspect of this drink though is to use just enough amaretto to play nicely with the scotch, without overpowering it.
The name “Godfather” comes from its dark color and strong taste that is reminiscent to some people of black coffee. That said, there are variations to this classic drink, for example, swapping out the Scotch for Irish whiskey or bourbon.
